Oh yea do it Turks, Doc and me have been teaming up quite a bit and having quite a bit of success together. Paddy was about last night as well for the first time in a while, and we sometimes get a cameo from Jonny at the weekends. Generally I sit in TS in an active channel when I’m online, in a match channel when I’m on mumble with the TF2 team, and AFK channel if I’m likely to be back, or within earshot of the computer. Jump on there or message on steam if you want a game. One thing’s been apparent to me recently is that TF2 is so much better when you have people together on ts focused on the same goal, especially when we achieve it so often 🙂
Actually I think the flash version was the original. Not sure, just something rings a bell about it from when the game was initially released.
We’re still here and available to play SOIA, though it tends to be Paddy who initiates the games. I generally feel played out with L4D from the first edition, but I’m still up for a game now and again.

That’s not really what I mean Turks, I don’t mind the giving people something to aim for thing, but unlockables which are just better weapons, unbalance a game.
can’t effing abide this idea in an FPS multiplayer games where you get unlocks.
I hate this as well, and it’s one of the biggest turn offs for me when it comes to MW2 for example. TF2 is the only game I’ve seen where unlocks have been implemented properly, as any advantage a weapon has over it’s vanilla counterpart carries with it a significant drawback, which means someone carrying a vanilla gun, can counter the advantage by his tactical approach. I really doubt EA put the same time and effort into game balance as Valve do though, especially considering previous games in the BF series, and in particular aircraft 🙁

Wish there was an IMAX near me, but this was pretty fucking spectacular on the normal big screen. I really didn’t care about the story being old and redressed to fit a sci fi setting, because it just looked so damn good.
I was left wondering how many hippies have tried plugging their pony tails into trees since watching this. Some good news for SOIA though, some of hippies worldwide apparently couldn’t cope with the real world again after seeing this idealistic version of reality, and topped themselves.
I tend to stay away from the more twich orientated games, but you certainly don’t see a lot of really young kids owning TF2 servers. You’ll certainly find a decent skill level amongst 16 – 21 year olds but as a general rule of thumb, the younger they are the more mistakes they make. I’m still one of the younger ones around here though, so I guess I’ll find out over the next 10 years or so how true this is 🙂 I imagine computer games will be similar to the likes of snooker, where a player tends to decline later than in other sports where there’s a more physical requirement.

Oh and Paddy where have you been lately, plenty of those decent games happening all the time if you fancy jumping on ts.
perhaps we all need to take a chill pill….or alternatively why not set up 2 teams….1 for those who are in it to win it…..and one for those who play to take part and dont mind getting tonked ?? just a thought ?
Probably the best idea since not everyone will like what’s required for a proper competitive team to function. I don’t consider a proper competitive team to be against any XDC ethos, just make sure people know what they’re getting into before they join it and there shouldn’t be any problems. We should do this for future teams in other games as well.
(excuse typos but phone typing again as work blocks our forum – can we not get around this somehow with some fancy coding?)

Off topic, but honestly Nani’s performance against Arsenal was a blip, and not some masterclass in man management from Fergie.
