Maybe you should pop back when they’re open mate ๐

Oh yeah, could someone PM me the TS server address and pass, again pleaseeeeee…. TY TY TY. Sorry for the inconvienience…. is that how you spell inconvienience….? hmmm
well it’s how you spell inconvienience, it isn’t however how the rest of the english speaking world spells inconvenience ๐
DeicistParticipantif by ‘aquire’ you mean download then no, it’s a pain in the arse. You can apparently download games and play them from the memory stick, but doing so is a very hit and miss affair and depends what version firmware you’re running. LAter versions of the firmware are completely locked down so you pretty much can’t do anything that Sony doesn’t want you to. Other than that they’re quite funky and if there’s games that you like then I’d say get one…. but check what games are available first.
DeicistParticipantbah ๐

DeicistParticipantfind the voltages and post them here, you should see something like:
-12v
-5v
-3v
+3v
+5v
+12vand each will have an ‘actual’ voltage. I think most of them should be within 0.5v of the stated voltage (ie: +12v should be +11.5 to +12.5) but post what you’ve got and I’ll see if anything stands out as obviously wrong
DeicistParticipantJust leave in:
CPU (obviously)
Graphics card
1 stick of ram
hard driveand try to boot. If the same thing happens and you’ve already eliminated the RAM and the graphics card as being the source of the problem then the most likely culprit is the CPU. If you’re feeling particularly confident you could get some thermal paste and try remounting your heatsink (oo-er) or get someone else to do it.
hmm.. I just realised it could be your power supply as well actually, unless you’ve already tried that. Power supplies can just’go bad’ occasionally and you get all kinds of strange problems if that happens. Somewhere in your BIOS should be a way of checking your voltages, make sure they’re all within spec.
DeicistParticipantWhere’s the submarine?
DeicistParticipantI didn’t even know we ran a referrel scheme :s
anyway, just register on the forums and post your highjack this log in this forum:

and someone will help you out ๐

cheers buddy, will have a go…
I also have a few embedded viruses on here… are you able to do an analysis on my hijack this lark? or shall I head over to the rats, who have a thread running…?
Cheers
this is a blatant plug but….
head over to http://www.short-media.com and post your highjack this thread in the spyware section of the forum. They have several dedicated people who spend their time sorting through people’s spyware related issues.
(it’s a blatant plug because I’m a part time reviewer for them ๐ )

My MSN address is no longer a valid email, so I don’t care about spammers.
However, I did just move mine to the corresponding thread in the private forums just becuase, well, ermmm….seems like a good idea ๐
You might find however that someone tries to get into your messenger / hotmail account which can be very annoying. After a certain number of invalid password attempts msn will lock you out for a while.
DeicistParticipantYou all realise that spammers can spider web pages and pull addresses off them? They tend to look for the ‘@’ symbol, so it makes much more sense to put your address as something like:
tall_paulb ‘at’ hotmail ‘dot’ com
which is mine, by the way ๐
DeicistParticipantFor a bog standard PC, maplins has this

2ghz celeron barebones unit. Just needs memory and a hard drive. And probably a graphics card if you’re going to be gaming. Obviously it’s not a high end system, but it should run things from the BF Vietnam era fairly well (with a graphics card upgrade) and for รฦรโรยขรขโยฌร ยกรฦรขโฌลกรโรยฃ130 (plus รฦรโรยขรขโยฌร ยกรฦรขโฌลกรโรยฃ100 or so for memory, hard drive and second hand graphics card) it’s not too shabby ๐
DeicistParticipantGet some morphine, that’ll work a treat. mmmmm morphine.
DeicistParticipantWell, maybe in my youth…. too old for that sort of thing now, and my kidneys are completely fooked due to too much indulgence so I now get chronic pain if I dabble in class As. Which is nice.
