Moving into our new flat on wednesday and ditching Freedom 2 Surf after being with them for 4 years, they used to be great but have been shite for the last 18months with random disconnects (discon twice typing this ffs).
So any recommendations for isp? I’ll want uncapped 2mb>8mb ADSL preferably with 1 month cut off notification
yeah, stop banging peoples wives and lieing all the time! It’s not attractive at all.

There is no particular ISP I would recommend, but I would advise that you avoid Sky at all costs, they’re just not worth it!Did you upgrade to high speeds with F2S … I dont have issues at all.. I’m still on 2mb uncap.. but i heard of all these disconnections since upgrade to higher.. I’m staying on 2MB coz of this :/
Did you know F2s sold out to Pipex? ghey.. mind you I downloaded 156GB last month so they tell me, maybe thats why they love me? 🙂
I’m not sure about my Pipex service. Those of you on the 2142 server will hear my cries (well actually you won’t as I’ve just been disconnected for the 5th time inside 20 minutes). When it conencts I seem to have one of the better pings, I dl uncapped, and seem to get a good(ish) connection on P2P once I fiddled with the dangley bits to unthrottle it.
To this day I’ve always said Nildram were the best.
Tess: OMG you think Sky are bad? Try Tiscali! I used to work for their BB department when it was setup. Dear gawd please NO ONE go with them. Lo.
i’ve been with nildram for a few years now and no probs so far……..haven’t bothered upgrading any higher than the 2mb service.

Yeah my problems started when i upgraded to there 8mb MAX service which i only every get 4mb, i’d thought they’d sorted it out by now but no, it’s shite, stick with the 2mb service.
And yeah pipex bought them out but it was crap before then.

Tiscali are indeed completely shit. I’ve ranted about them before.
I’m now with a local outfit called Griffin Internet (http://www.griffin.co.uk). While quite expensive, they are very reliable and have a fantastic contention ratio so I always get close to the maximum speeds for my line. Customer service is good too.
One thing to check is whether the ISP throttles bandwidth at peak times. My biggest bitch about Tiscali was that between about 7pm & 11pm most evenings they restricted bandwidth and response times enormously. I would be lucky to get pings of less that 100-150 when playing games at this time.
I doubt they are the only ISP that does this, so worth asking the question.
