Which Antivirus?

My AV is up for renewal soon. I use Panda and have it installed on 3 machines. But I’ve been getting unhappy with the amount of system resources it takes. Also I’ve seen the odd report on it’s lack of performance in catching malware compared to other systems. PC Pro gave it a lowly 60%.

So it’s time for a change.

    Any recommendations?

Kapersky AV7 seems to be well regarded. Anyone any experience of it?

AVP is supposed to be good. Im afraid I’m still using norton although this 2007 seems to be less of a resource hog than earlier versions

Kaspesky is good, use as the underlying AV engine in other products such as ZoneLabs etc

    NOD32, NOD32, NOD32.

Doesn’t whore your system like the others. I can’t speak for Sophos, but I didn’t really like Kapersky when I got a bundled version a while back. AVG? Nah… Norton and McAfee are just cnuts).

NOD32 m8 you won’t hear a peep out of it (unless you get something dodgy of course), used it for years.

    😕 😕 😕 😕

Not heard of NOD, so I’ll take a look.

I thought Sophos was business only – no home user type product? It looks that way from their website.

    Cheers chaps. I think….. 😉

AVG home edition by Grisoft for the last 4+ years. It has worked a treat.
